Our trainers have utilized every method of dog training available ranging from purely positive treat training through remote collar training. Effective dog training is NOT a one-size-fits-all approach.
We have the experience and knowledge of breed behavior to tailor a training program specifically for YOUR dog either at our Kensington, MD facility or in your home. One that will help ensure a higher level of learning retention, but still be rewarding for them. We want your dog to be happy and eager to learn. We offer a combination of Private Lessons, Small Group Lessons, Dog Day School, and Board and Train. We can usually recommend what is best for your training needs after a short conversation with you if you give us a call.
Methodology
Our training method is based on giving your dog immediate feedback, establishing communication and making sure your dog knows when it’s doing the right and wrong thing. Your dog needs to understand what is expected of it and once this is established it needs to be enforced with consistency. It is vital that during the training process the dog is treated fairly and in a balanced approach.
Our experience allows us to customize a training program for your dog, based on their personality, strengths and motivators, the areas of concern and home life with your family.
All of these pieces must be taken into consideration when training your dog. There is no one-size fits all approach when you’re dealing with an individual dog. We’ve dealt with dogs that were fear aggressive, dogs that were stubborn and could not be trained by other trainers and dogs that bordered on dangerously aggressive. In each case our trainers were able to successfully reform the dog and return them to the owner a happy and balanced member of the family.
